Wendy Panther Obituary
A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of Ken and Pat Simmons Blanton of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her son, Trent Bowling; grandmother, Wilma Walker; grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Blanton; and cousin, Jace Barrow.
Wendy was a former event planner for the Cleveland Country Club for 15 years. She loved to ride motorcycles and seadoos. Her loves were family, motorcycle family, friends, and helping others – especially children. Wendy founded the Jace Man run for the abused children in Cleveland County. She had a fond love for her granddaughter and goddaughter.
Wendy is survived by her husband Terry "Spanky" Panther of Blacksburg, SC; parents, Ken and Pat Simmons Blanton of Shelby; brother, Dale Blanton of Shelby; granddaughter, Hunter McKinley Bowling of Blacksburg, SC; goddaughter, Melissa Jones of Shelby; special aunt, Gail Laney of Boiling Springs, and numerous special friends and cousins.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Ken and Pat Blanton, 1330 Eastview Ext., Shelby.
Celebration of Life Service: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Cemetery, Shelby

Spanky and family,
Thinking of you and praying. No words can express how I know all of you are feeling. But just remember even though you don't understand and there are so many questions remember God loves us all and he has his reasons. It may be to inspire someone eles life or to make us stronger in his love for one another. But one glorious day when we go to meet him he will explain it all. Wendy was such a sweet person. I always enjoyed working with her when planning an event at he club. She always had a big smile on her face and was so helpful. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace dear Wendy.

I love u Wendy.. Thank u for so many years of being like a 2nd momma. We've cried, laughed & cried and laughed some more. I will always hold u dear & close to my heart. I miss U and Trent so much. I so glad u are home with Trent now. We are gonna miss you, and wish you were still here, but We all know, that you was ready to see your son, 2 years apart was long enough. Tell Trent I love him, and think of Him alot and have his Pictures u took of us hanging up. The boys were upset when I told them, they are gonna miss you to.I know its selfish for me to wish you was still here, Coz I know u miss Trent and Jaceman, But dang it, I wish u didnt have to go. BTW I know Trent had something to do with his, He probably was sitting there playing spades with GOD * I can hear him now, ' If I win, my momma comes home' If you win, She stays on Earth a little longer. I do not think anyone can think of Wendy without remembering that beautiful smile of hers. She was always happy and smiling and helping others. Spanky, Pat and family, I am so sorry for your lose. I know that Wendy is with many children now hanging at her feet, she is making them smile. Chicken an I worked beside she and Pat at special day this year and she loved seeing all those kids and adult smile. I think God sent her here to work for kids. And her reward is to be with Trent again and with all the other kids in heaven. God needs good people in heaven too. We will pray for you all and hope for peace for you. All things are of His plans and all rewards are his grace. His mercy will shine on you during this time. God bless you all.
