Jacqueline O'Keefe Obituary

Lt. Col. Jacqueline M. O'Keefe
Lt. Col. Jacqueline (Jackie) M. O'Keefe, age, 91 of Damascus, MD passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024. Jackie was born on May 30, 1933, at the Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT and also resided in Shelton, CT.
Jackie attended Quinnipiac College and proudly served her country in the Air Force Reserves with honor and distinction, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. She worked for Mechanical Contractor John J Kirlin, Inc for 18 years, retiring in 1995. Her mentorship and strong work ethic were evident throughout her career.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jackie was a devoted member of her church community, where she found solace and strength throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding light. She was generous with her gifts to the church as well as many charitable organizations.
In recent years, Jackie resided in Frederick, MD where she spent her final days at Country Meadows Assisted Living. She faced the challenges of dementia with grace and dignity, surrounded by compassionate caregivers.
Preceded in death by her mother Eleanor Gorgens and dear friend, Marga M Grabs. Their companionship and shared memories brought immeasurable joy to Jackie's life.
In memory of a life well-lived and in honor of her distinguished service, a Funeral Mass will be held November 15, 2024, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Damascus, MD. Following the Mass, Jackie will receive a Military Burial at All Soul's Cemetery Germantown, MD. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. – Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Her legacy of faith, generosity and service remains in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. May she rest in peace.
