Lillian Phyllis Forster, aged 87, a former resident of Shelton, Connecticut, passed away on October 4, 2024, in Saint Petersburg, Florida after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Lillian was born in Ansonia, Connecticut on January 9, 1937. to the late Roland (Jack) and Hazel Marsh.
Lillian was a dedicated teacher's aide at Ripton School in Shelton, Connecticut, where she was beloved by students and staff alike.
Lillian served her country as a member of the United States Air Force, where she embraced the disciplined life and camaraderie that the military offered. Her commitment to service continued long after her military days, as evidenced by her active involvement in her community.
A lifelong member of the Shelton Congregational Church, Lillian served as the Church Historian for many years. Her commitment to service was also evident in her dedication to the Girl Scouts, where she served not only as a troop leader but also as a trainer and Derby/Shelton Service Unit Chairman, influencing many young lives.
She was a graduate of Shelton High School, class of 1955, and always cherished the memories and friendships she made there.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Forster Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Lori Forster Austin and Edward Forster; four grandchildren, Edward, Jason, Casey and Helen; and four great-grandchildren, Devon, Lily, Kiely and Madison.
Lillian's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her passion for education, and her unwavering service to her community and country. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. Lillian loved to travel and enjoyed playing Bingo.
A memorial service to celebrate Lillian's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2nd at Riverside Community Church in Oxford Connecticut. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Shelton.
