Three words come to mind when remembering Captain Cooper. God, Family. Country.
Burt and I were colleagues at Nestle Research in Fremont, MI for many years. His military training shown through in his attention to detail, (sometimes to my exasperation) and this was of great benefit to many projects. No stone nor scenario was not realized before hand and captured on a spreadsheet. There was much laughter and good humor regarding our different ways of approaching a project. Burt made a workday more fun.
Captain Cooper is a wise soul. He had a breadth of life experiences but was very humble about sharing.. It was many years after working with Burt that I realized of his military experience and his military rank. One does not have to look any further to identify a true Patriotic American. We shared our love of country and had many conversations on these topics.
Few individuals that we work with make such an impact and impression in our lives, but the Captain was an exception. Captain Cooper is the epitome of living for God.Family, Country.
May God richly bless Captain Cooper, comfort his family, many friends and colleagues whose lives he enriched serving his community. Captain, you will be missed.

It's an honor to remember people who always did for others & known for being kind & a big helper . Proverbs 17: reassures us that God is the examiner of hearts. So Burt is known by God. This promise can comfort the heart. Regrettably, Juanita

Burt was always there for me when I needed him whether I knew I needed him or not. We didn´t always agree on things but he always tried to do what he believed was right and he always prioritized his family. Even after him an my mom got divorced, he greeted me with open arms and an open door every time. He was always happy to see me, always quick to tell me he was proud of me and that he thought I was a good dad. I was so happy to see him with Amber and the kids... it was the happiest I had ever seen him. I wish you all peace. Especially, Marty. He loved you so much. Seeing you two together always made me wish I had a brother (my sisters are great, too!).

As neighbors of Burt when we lived in Fremont, we enjoyed many outings and gatherings with him and his family. Always a gracious host, Burt was quick to laugh and make everyone feel welcome. One of my favorite memories of Burt is him riding his lawn mower as if he was performing as a trick horseback rider in a circus! Burt had a great sense of humor that ranged from dry wit to slapstick comedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with Amber, their children, and his family. RIP Lawn Ranger!

Burt was a true public servant. I enjoyed all of the time we spent together at the many functions we were involved in. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
