All be it that it has been decades since I last saw Mr. Weaver I still remember him fondly. I recall the countless number of hours that I spent at the Power Station Pond taking summer swimming lessons. I contribute me eventually becoming a Water Safety Instructor from that time that I was able to spend taking those lessons as a child. May Mr. Weaver rest in peace and may his family gain strength in knowing that he was a good man.

Harvey and Pat Weaver essentially made Pentwater UM Camp. During all the years we were there leading camps, they were helpers for campers and staff alike. Someone has said that they poured their lives into helping young persons have wonderful God experiences and trusting experiences. All our lives have been enriched for having known and camped under their tutelage. Blessings on Pat and the rest of their family in the weeks and months ahead.

One of my favorite people from my childhood. There at the old Hart swimming hole I learned to swim through his summer swimming program and later became an instructor for the beginner's program. I learned my life saving skills there and actually saved a young woman drowning past the drop off at the dunes. I'll never forget Mr. Weaver. Condolences to all of his family.

Harvey so cared about kids and youth - his whole life's work centered around offering opportunities in a variety of ways to make a difference for all young people. I had the privilege of sharing in eleven camping seasons at Lake Michigan UM Camp with lots of kids and a host of wonderful adults. We all loved the Weaver Family and so appreciated their caring work for kids. Grateful for the opportunity; thankful to God for the difference camping made in the lives of those who shared in those wonderful camping weeks. "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I was a camper at the Lake Michigan United Methodist Camp for 5 years. Harvey and his family were as much a part of that Camp as anybody
A matter of fact I would say (for me) with out Harvey and his family it wouldn't have been the same experience. I looked forward to not just seeing all my friends each summer, but we all talked about looking forward to seeing Harvey & family. To this day I still have fond memories of the giant cinnamon rolls for Saturday breakfast. His love for that Camp and all the kids that came through there each summer, you could tell he loved & cared for all of it. A good friend if mine would always go around on the last day of camp and give everyone big bear hugs and I mean everybody. He always would go up to their home and give Harvey 1 of his big bear hugs as well (he never missed out giving him a hug before we left). May you rest in peace Harvey & when you see him in heaven he'll find you and give you a bear hug from all of us campers. Much love to a former camper.

This sunset was taken at Lake MI Camp (No Filter) I want to thank Harvey for his influence on kids. You and your family were a big part of my life for over 30+ years.
Harvey always new the weather coming or going over those dunes. If you wanted to spend a night sleeping on the dunes, Harvey could tell you how safe it would be.
Prayers for the family as they remember him. As we say at Camp "See ya later"
Welcome to Heaven Harvey Weaver. God has been waiting for you.

Coach Weaver was a big part of my High School education and athletic career. He taught Science and coached Football, Basketball, and Track and that helped me with a college scholarship to teach and coach. I admired him for what he stood for and how much he meant to the City of Hart.

Mr. Weaver taught me algebra and science at HHS in the 1960's. He was also there at Hart's swimming hole, teaching me to dive by holding my feet on the dock so I wouldn't jump feet-first instead of head-first like I was supposed to! And years later I would always see him at the cross-country meets when my children ran for Shelby High School. I always admired how young he always looked, even though he must have been in his eighties by then. My condolences to all the family.
