Joshua McMaster Obituary
He was born on October 25, 1977, in Ludington, Michigan.
Josh brought warmth, energy, and a genuine spirit to every chapter of his life.
Josh spent the early part of his childhood in Ludington before being given the opportunity to live with his sister Lisa in Germany-an experience that broadened his world and shaped his outlook. He later made his home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Josh began his career in the restaurant industry working alongside his mother at the family's restaurant. His natural charisma, strong work ethic, and dedication quickly set him apart. Over the years, his passion for hospitality led him into leadership as a restaurant manager, where he left a lasting impression on both colleagues and guests alike.
Josh is lovingly remembered by his children, Jenna McMaster of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Evan McMaster of Grand Rapids, Michigan, now residing in Vietnam; and by his mother, Valerie LeGault of Wyoming, Michigan.
He is also survived by his brothers: Tim LeGault (wife Jennifer) of Branch, Michigan and Vietnam; Thomas McMaster of Ludington, Michigan; and David McMaster (wife Cheryl) of Littlestown, Pennsylvania.
His sisters: Lisa Baldwin (husband Jerome) of Yelm, Washington, who holds deeply cherished memories of her brother; Debbie Larson of Zeeland, Michigan; and Shauna Verbus (husband Dan) of Bel Air, Maryland. Josh is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McMaster; his maternal grandparents, Earl and Phyllis LeGault; his paternal grandfather, Thomas E. McMaster; and his uncle, Danny LeGault.
Beyond his work and family life, Josh had a deep appreciation for vintage items and furniture. He found joy in restoring these pieces and sharing them with others through markets and shows-a true reflection of his creativity and keen eye for detail.
Josh was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he found spiritual connection and community.
Two Celebrations of Life will be held in his honor: one in Grand Rapids this spring, and another hosted by his sister Lisa in Ludington this July. Dates and times will be announced at a later time.
May Josh's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends
