Louise Kate Stribley LaNouette

1932 - 2025

Louise Kate Stribley LaNouette, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 20 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, William (Bill) Evans LaNouette (d. 2022).

Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, and a graduate of Michigan State University, Louise carried her Michigan roots with her throughout her life. She and Bill spent over a decade living in Italy and Belgium, where Bill worked for The Procter & Gamble Company. Together they built lasting friendships, traveled widely, and raised their children, Greg and Mindy, in a home filled with curiosity, culture, and love.

After returning to Cincinnati, Louise earned her master's degree in psychology and served as a school psychologist. She approached every chapter of life with curiosity and enthusiasm, never afraid to learn something new. In retirement, she and Bill spent summers at their beloved White Lake home in Michigan and winters in the Palm Springs area, where she rediscovered her love of painting, perfected her putting, and remained active in bridge and tennis.

Louise excelled at almost everything she pursued, but her greatest gift was bringing people together. She built vibrant communities wherever she lived and made others feel welcomed, cared for, and loved-always with warmth, humor, and joy.

Louise is survived by her son, Gregory William LaNouette (Jill Feldon LaNouette); daughter, Melinda Louise LaNouette (John Stewart Lewis); grandchildren Evan (Annick Aubin-Pouliot), Trevor (Samantha), Olivia (William), and Josephine (Nicholas); great-grandchildren Leo, Anderson, and Evelyn; nieces Betsie (Frank) and Lisa; and nephew Blair (Ellen).

A memorial service will be held January 17, 2026 at 11 AM at The Church of The Redeemer in Hyde Park/Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of Louise's favorite charities: The Salvation Army.
