He left a mark on many. Years ago, I was at a corporate meeting and the speaker made a comment " He wore his clothes out from the inside". That is how I remember Paul, always moving , smiling and laughing.

Paul, it has been a year now since you left us physically but you’d be so proud. Your family is strong, happy and forever honors you every day. All you worried about is for naught as Gretchen is stronger, more reflective and doing great. Jenny has become that strong and loving wife and mother you said she would be and Derek has grown and matured so much in past year. You live on in all and their happiness and peace is because of you.
We all miss you but I told you that your attitude and smile touched all you engaged with. I got this too and will see you one day but will honor you every day by loving and living life to its fullest!
Love you #20

Paul and I met when I was hired at Consumers Energy in 2013. I recalled when he sit next to me during my interview and looked me in the eye and said, "All I want to know is, can play golf". I said to him, "I have 2 sets of clubs". Paul then said, "that is not what I asked you, I don't care if you have 2 sets of clubs, I ask you if you can play golf". That was the beginning of our friendship and he picked me for his golf partner. I will truly miss his joking comebacks and I have always told PJ that he should be in Las Vegas on the stage with his jokes and comeback on little things that would make you laugh. You are not here physically, but you will forever be in our hearts with you compassion and love for people. Love ya PJ!

Paul was a nice man, I met him first at the White Duck Market when they were building their house on Lakewood. Then I continued to know him when he came into Fruitland Township where I work. Everytime he came in I always asked so hows it going, and everytime, he would say great, I am still here. Prayers & love to his entire family & friends, he will be missed.

There's a hole in my heart and it hurts so bad.
It's hard when you lose someone who, though from a completely different culture, showed you unconditional love.
It was just a few weeks ago that Jake and I were sharing memories of our terrible hooks and slices during highschool golf. I took him to his first football game at The Big House. We shared a memory of me bringing home a Richard Pryor album from college and hiding it from our parents. The next week when I returned home for a visit, the whole basketball team was quoting the Pryor verbatim with perfect inflections at every opportunity. We laughed incessantly.
We always ended every conversation with an expression of friendship and love. I will forever cherish the very last words we exchanged in text just a few weeks ago. We shared one last memory of me being in college at U of M and picking up the phone to call and at exactly the same time he was calling me. Neither of our phones rang but we were immediately connected. We had that kind of connection. With that, in parting I said, "I love you my friend," to which he responded as alway, "I love you too, my brother."
There's a hole in my heart and it hurts so bad.
So a word of advice as Jake would give. Put things in their proper perspective and cherish every single moment with friends and family. I can hear him saying, "I made room for you to fill that damn hole with new wonderful memories with friends and family."
I promise to do my best Jake, but you will never be replaced. You will forever be missed Paul David (Jake) Jacobson. R.I.P., I love you, my BROTHER!

When I first met Paul I was actually a little suspicious. He was so outgoing, energetic, kind and everyone´s friend and I thought he couldn´t be genuine. But he was. That was Paul and I am so thankful that I could call him my friend too. May God bring comfort and peace to Gretchen and the family.

I am blessed to say I was a friend of Paul's for many years. The one word that comes to me to describe Pail would be 'genuine'. He was genuinely kind, friendly, sincere, generous, devoted; the list goes much further than the space allowed. I love you Brother Paul. Rest in Peace.

Paul laughed easily and gave generously. He loved his family and friends with unwavering loyalty. A person of great quality and character. He was an inspiration to us all. It's hard not to think of him and smile. I loved the way he would call my name and run to hug me. I will miss that so very much. The world will be a sadder place without him.

To the warrior- take care of everything- spirit new in heaven...enjoy your mansion. You probably figure you have work to do to get it ready for Gretchen. I can't imagine you resting in peace...it's the resting that is probably temporary. Explore your new surroundings with gusto and visit with all family and friends that stop by. I'm sure about the peace that is due you as well as the amazing love you can both give and receive. Don't forget about us mortals...
Send Gretchen a sign so extraordinary she can't deny it is from you.
