Beverly Jean Jacobs, 89
Beverly Jean Jacobs, 89, of
Kellogg, ID, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 at Pinehurst Senior Community in Pinehurst, ID where she had been a resident for the past three years. Beverly was born on July 28, 1936 in Genesee, ID, daughter of the late George and Hila (Day) Erickson.
Beverly attended school in Genesee, ID and graduated from Genesee High School. She married Jack Jacobs in 1954 and together they had three children. After her children started school she worked at Dan's Rexall Drug in Kellogg and then went on to work as a teller for 36 years at the former Idaho First National Bank in Kellogg, now US Bank in Kellogg. Beverly and Jack later divorced, but remained close throughout the years.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking, working the daily crossword and sudoku puzzles and was a voracious reader. She never turned down an opportunity to play any variety of card, dice or board game and loved it even more when money was involved. Some of her favorites included Yahtzee, Greedy, Pinochle, Horse Race, Ramoli and Thirty-one. Jack loved to sit to her left and slide the deck of cards to her to see how many times he could get her to shuffle and deal before she realized that it wasn't her turn… it was usually 3 or 4, we would all laugh and laugh when she finally caught on.
Bev was the ultimate host, always welcoming anyone and everyone into her home and making them feel as comfortable as possible. Her guests would never want for anything. She was a fantastic cook and she loved sharing her secrets with her daughter and granddaughters. Some would say her fried chicken was the best they'd ever had. She always had a chocolate shake waiting anytime her grandkids and great-grandkids came to visit.
There were many things in life that brought her great joy, but nothing compared to the pride she had for her family. Her face would light up at the mention of any of them and she took every opportunity to brag on them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beverly had many friends and adored each of them. She never met a stranger, as evidenced any time she went out in public. She would strike up a lengthy conversation with everyone she ran into, whether she knew them previously or not, and would spend hours each day on the phone "checking in" with her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by two brothers, Dwaine Erickson and Dale Erickson; a sister, LaVarr VonHodlt; her ex-husband, Jack Jacobs; as well as several nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Survivors include her three children, Ron (Carol) Jacobs of Cataldo, ID; Rick (Sandra) Jacobs of Winnemucca, NV; and Sharon Jacobs of Wallace, ID; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Colby) Dennard of Columbus, MT; Melissa Jacobs of Columbus, MT; Jake Jacobs of Winnemucca, NV; Marc (Alma) Edwards of Spokane Valley, WA; Christa (Jeremy) Gray of Spokane Valley, WA; great-grandchildren Chase and Abby Anderson, Jackie Jean Jacobs, Aidyn Jacobs, Chloe and Brenna Dennard. Bryan, Briana, Jase and KJ Edwards. Noah, Caleb and Eli Gray, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Pinehurst Senior Living for providing Bev a warm and welcoming home away from home for the past three years. Also, to the fantastic nursing staff at Gentiva Hospice of Coeur d'Alene for their compassionate care in her final weeks of life by making her comfortable and providing guidance and comfort to the family.
