April Fulghum Obituary
SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of April Ann Thomas Fulghum, 32, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Open Range Fellowship Church in Greenwood, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Navarre assisted by Rev. Harry Bamburg and April's brother, Shelby Thomas. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.
April was born on November 7, 1979 in Shreveport to Carl and Donna Thomas. She passed away on October 10, 2012. She was a Property Manager for Lexington Place Apartments. She enjoyed being with her children, family and friends. April was also a professional photographer and enjoyed crafting and decorating. April had a great love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Marie Roan Freeland and her grandfather, John Roan. She is survived by her husband, Scott Anthony Fulghum; sons, Hayden Scott Fulghum and Thomas Roan Fulghum; her father, Carl Thomas and his wife, Tonji; grandparents, Patsy Roan, Farice Thomas, Shelby Thomas and wife, Sue; brothers, Shelby Thomas and wife, Summer, Hunter Freeland, Billy Freeland; sister, Brandy Guimbellot and husband, Chris; stepmother, Cindy Boggs Thomas; father-in-law, Jerry Fulghum and wife, Peggy; mother-in-law, Sylvia Greis and husband, Ken; uncle Gary Roan and wife, Elaine and their sons, Canyon and Cody Roan; numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Webb, Richard Chism, Shelby Thomas, Hunter Freeland, Cody Roan, Canyon Roan and Brett Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Freeland, Toby Jones, David Perry, Michael Hayes and Andy Hayes.
Memorials may be made in April's name to Dogtired Ranch Small Dog Rescue, Inc; [email protected].
Pelican State Credit Union has established the Fulghum Family Fund for donations to assist April's husband and two sons.

Scott was a great boss to work for and I always saw April with the boys coming to see him. This is such a tragedy and I offer up prayers for Scott, Hayden and Roan, may an army of angels surround them and give them peace.

I knew April for a few years, she was a patient of mine. My Dr. delivered your boys.All of us at the clinic was devistated when we heard the news. She was a very sweet person. I was glad to have gotten to know her not only as my patient but as a friend. I'm so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you and your boys thru this.

I didn't know this sweet girl but I was so sad to see this tragedy happen and felt heartbroken for her family and loved ones. My tears fall in true sympathy and hope something good can come from such random acts of violence. It changed something in my heart and touched it with compassion....and I didn't even know her. God may have taken her too soon but she will never be forgotten.

I am still in shock of the news. I babysat her when she was a baby and was able to grow up in Greenwood with her and the family. My heart breaks for her husband, and her two beautiful boys as well as her loving family. She was an amazing woman, wife and mother. I will miss her and her talent with photography. I enjoyed looking at her photos. All my love and prayers go to her friends and family.

Mr. Gerry and family, I (Kenny Nielsen's daughter)was so saddened to hear about the loss of April. I didn't have the blessing to know her but, she's an angel in heaven and will be awaiting everyone's arrival. You all are in our prayers and may God's mercy hover over each and every one of you.
