Don McCormick Obituary
Minden, LA Funeral services for Rev. Don M. McCormick will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Albert Munsinger and Rev. Morris Busby officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church.
Bro. Don was born January 23, 1930 in Laran, Louisiana and entered into rest January 26, 2016 in Minden, Louisiana. He was a retired pastor of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Annie McCormick.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce R. McCormick, sons Johnny McCormick and wife Denise, David McCormick and wife Cindy, Jeffrey McCormick and wife Cindy all of Minden, daughters Linda Reed and husband Wayne and Donna Greer and husband Tim all of Minden, five sisters, three brothers, twenty grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and a number of great great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
The family extends special thanks to sitter Dot Lopez, Aime Hospice, Jasmine, Kyla, and Cheree and Dr. Carl Hines.

I remember growing up and he and my grandfather were great friends. Fellow pastors. They made an agreement that whoever passed first the other would officiate the funeral. Bro Don officiated my grandfathers service in June 1999. Now I know for the last 2 years these 2 are rejoicing in heaven together. The aLord has his hands full

Don was such a fine Christian man with a quick wit and humor! We truly enjoyed him during the time he was our pastor. Please accept our late condolences. We loved Bro. McCormick and enjoyed our times in Revival services with him. He was a wonderful Godly man and we know he will be missed but Heaven got a beautiful rose. We send our love and condolences to all the family

Eternity will only tell how many lives he touched and how many souls he won to the Lord. I'll never forget the great times we had together. His love for the Lord and his fellow mankind cannot be compared. Will miss him here but will have eternity to catch up. Love the McCormick family.
