Harriet Thompson Obituary
- - Harriet Lieber Thompson, PhD, died peacefully Dec. 31, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug 4, 1925, Shreveport LA to Clara and Phillip Lieber. After Byrd HS, she graduated Magna Cum Laude (1944) from Centenary College, earned a Master of Education (1962) from Steven F Austin, and a PhD (1972) from Purdue University.
Mom was a clinical psychologist at Rusk State Hospital in Rusk TX for 10 years before opening 'Psychological Services' with her husband Fagan. They retired to Wimberley TX, where they created "Sanctuary", a healing place for the environmentally challenged.
She is survived by her three sons - Robin (& Jean), Geoffrey (&Trout) and Christopher (& Sherri) Pomeroy; grandchildren - Danielle Pomeroy and Michael Pomeroy; Randy, Robert, Jean Ann Scoggin and Kathryn S. Harvey; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A founding member of Shreveport's All Souls Universalist Church,Harriet sought to improve and better the lives of all those she met on life's journey. An online memorial is in progress at:
