Kathryn Sue Bostick Caskey

SHREVEPORT, LA - Memorial services for Kathryn Sue Bostick Caskey (Mrs. David M. Caskey, Sr.) will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2012, in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Carl E. Rhoads, III of First United Methodist Church of Shreveport. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the funeral home.

Kathryn Sue was born on January 27, 1925 in Shreveport to James William Bostick, Sr. and Maggie Alta McFatter Bostick. She passed away Monday, July 9, 2012.

She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and Norton Business College. Kathryn Sue was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was baptized. She worked with the youth of the church for a number of years as a counselor and teacher. Later she was an active member and volunteer at Alternate View Network Sunday School of the Air.

Kathryn Sue was preceded in death by her husband, David Melton Caskey, Sr.; parents; and brother, James "Jim" William Bostick, Jr. She is survived by her three sons, David M. Caskey, Jr. and wife, Phyllis; James W. Caskey and wife, Jacquelyn; and John A. Caskey, all of Shreveport; grandchildren, Kathryn Caskey Brown and husband, Mike, of Seattle, WA; David M. Caskey, III of Asheville, NC, and Stephen Caskey of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by one sister, Barbara Bostick Nelson of Dallas, TX; a brother-in-law, John A. Caskey, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Mount Pleasant, TX; three nephews and a niece; as well as good friends, Charlotte and Wayne Blackburn and Dorothy Gilliard.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, therapists, aides and many others who assisted Kathryn Sue in her final illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Eternal Flame Fund, First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1567, Shreveport, LA 71165; or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, or the charity of donor's choice.

David and Phyllis,
So sorry to read of your Mom's death. I only remember meeting her on a few occassions but do remember how much my Mother loved her. She was actually an attendant in my parent's wedding. My Mom will be sad to hear of her death as well.
