SHREVEPORT, LA - Margie Middleton Nielsen , 87, of The Glen in Shreveport, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013.
Margie was born July 23, 1925, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Leo Alfred and Margaret (Cox) DeJean. They moved to Shreveport in 1931 during the Great Depression. She attended Creswell Elementary , Byrd High School and graduated from Centenary College in 1947 with a degree in English. At Centenary she met and married Charles Middleton in 1945. Margie was a lifelong member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and an active member of several Women's Circles .
She is preceded in death by her second husband, Allen Nielsen. She is survived by Charles Middleton of Pineville, daughter, Margaret Middleton Ortigo and husband, Bill, of Pineville, two grandchildren; Rachel Jillson of Baton Rouge and John Ortigo of Clinton, Mississippi, and two great-grandchildren; Teagan Harper and Oliver Lane Jillson of Baton Rouge.
