Robert Walton Obituary
SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Reverend Robert L. Walton will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at Saint Rest Baptist Church, 1664 Garden Street, Shreveport, LA. Rev. Clayton Moore, Pastor-elect/officiant. Interment will follow at the Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Saint Rest Baptist Church. Reverend Walton was born on September 18, 1933 and transitioned from this earthly life on July 29, 2015 at Promise Hospital of Louisiana.
Many are left to cherish a limitless number of wonderful memories, including his wife, Shirley Walton, two daughters: Gwendolyn Faye Walton, Shreveport, LA, Cheryl Walton-LeCompte (Damon), Atlanta, GA; two sons, Ansell Wright, Mansfield, LA, Allan Wright, Houston, TX; two grandsons, Johnathan Robert Walton, Shreveport, LA and Avery Wright, Houston, TX; one sister, Jessie Walton Lowery, Portland, OR; three brothers, Harvey Eugene (Betty Jean) Walton, Sawyer, MI, Rev. Malcolm Walton, Crete, IL and Calvin (Charlotte) Walton, Downers Grove, IL; sisters-in-law: Marie Hudson Hines, Bossier City, LA; Sillia Hudson, Shreveport, LA; He also leaves one aunt, Robbie Meadors Jones, Chandler, Arizona. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentis and Ruth Meadors Walton, four sisters, Vyleria Mae Dunn, Gladys Walker, Vada Battle and Lorene Carmichael, two brothers, Marvin Walton and William Walton.
The family wishes to extend their most sincere and heartfelt thanks to Doctors Marissa Johnson, David Abdehou and Semar Nachawati, Willis Knighton-Pierremont and Promise Hospital of Louisiana.
