Coushatta, LA - Celebration of life and going home service for Ruth Louise Gahagan,78, will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta at 2:00 PM with Reverend Billy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Social Springs Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be on Friday, June 3, 2016, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ruth was born April 4, 1938, in Castor, LA, to Claude Raymond and Annie Mae Davis and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2016, in Coushatta, LA

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Floyd Gahagan, great-grandchild, Caleb Mangham.

Left to cherish her memory are son, John Gahagan of Chandler, TX; daughter, Tammy Woodard and husband, Keith of Ringgold, LA and Peggy Wallace and husband, Randy of Castor, LA; grandchildren, Chad Woodall and wife, Charity, Brandi Mangham and husband, Ray, Dakota Wallace, and Kendall Wallace; great-grandchildren, Wayne Mangham, Joe Mangham, Madison Woodall, Marissa Woodall, and Chase Woodall; other relatives, George and Myrtis Cockerham of Shreveport, LA and the Delaney Family of New Orleans, LA; nieces, Linda Woodall of Hall Summit, LA and Diane Mason of Shreveport, LA; nephew, Michael Waters of Hall Summit, LA; special friends, Pat Myers, a life-long friend of Castor, LA, and Ronnie McGee of TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Woodall, Dakota Wallace, Ray Mangham, Michael Waters, George Woodall, and Brad Fairchild. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Wallace, Keith Woodard, Jerry Jordan, and Wayne Mangham.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Specialty Rehab, Christus Coushatta, and Dr. Gavin Chico for the wonderful care of their loved one.

Ruth was a caring, precious friend! She was so good to check on our mother, Virginia and we all LOVED her.
On another note, I worked at the clinic, when Ruth
worked the switchboard. Fun times, wonderful memories!!
Praying for all family in the days ahead, stick together and cherish your memories until you see our friend again.

I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I remember all the good times we had when our families got together. I am sure our parents are enjoying their reunion. My prayers are with your family. My memories have helped me after my mom passed away last year and hope yours will do the same.

I am so sorry to hear that Ruth passed away. I always enjoyed visiting with her and your grandparents back in the day. We spent many hours on the phone tracking down relatives a few years back, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her knowledge of the family and colorful stories were a delight. She loved our family, and she adored all of you. She will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Ruth. We had so many fun moments when we worked together at the hospital and I think of these often. We tried to call each other on or around our birthdays in April and always loved talking to Ruth. My condolences to the entire family.

Johnny, Tammy and Peggy,

Our hearts are broken to have your mom taken away from us, but we know she's in heaven rejoicing with the Lord and loved ones. Your mom and ours (Esta Delaney) had hoped to visit one another just one more time, but their visit via Skype last Christmas was meant to be their last on this earth. They now have time to visit one another for as long as they want to. We share your grief - but it's only for a season because we know our separation is temporary and our reunion will be a joyful one.
