Scotty Hill Obituary

Scotty Hill

Coushatta, LA - Celebration of life and going home service for Scotty Hill, 71, will be held 10 AM, Friday, February 7, 2014, at the Red River Cowboy Church in Coushatta, LA with Bro. Craig Beeman officiating assisted by Bro. Thomas Worsham and Bro. Clyde Miley. Interment will follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 9 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta, LA.

Mr. Hill was born December 1, 1942, in Oakdale, LA, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 4, 2014, in Houston, TX.

From his young adult years, until the last days, Scotty lived his faith. His heartfelt desire was to help young people seek guidance from God when faced with challenges and for everyday decisions. His influence on these lives has been seen in many ways with some of them becoming ministers and most of them becoming active in service to our Lord. His occupation in law enforcement sometimes put him in situations where he could share the importance of making better life choices.

His career paths in the farm and ranch industry as a ranch manager, brand inspector, and all-around cowboy, instilled a land stewardship mindset to his children and grandchildren. As a Godly husband of 50 years, daddy for 48 years, and Poppa for 26 years, he was and will forever be our standard of measure for faith, family, and service.

Preceding him in death were parents, Herman and Lucille Hill and in-laws, Carey and Evelyn Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Judy Wilson Hill; sons, Keric Hill, wife, Kathy, and Kai Hill, wife, Renee; daughter, Kala Sims; grandchildren, Caleb Hill and fiance', Kelcey, Cole Hill and wife, Misty, Garrett Hill, Micah Hill, Cloe Sims, Lena Hill, and Abby Sims; and great grandchildren, Rylee Hill and Harrison Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Red River Cowboy Church, 7644 Highway 1, Coushatta, LA 71019 or the American Cancer Society.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
