Shayla Carson Obituary

Shayla Carson

With tears, smiles and laughs friends and family will gather Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 at 6pm in the Auditorium of Elysian Fields High School to celebrate their memories of Shayla Carson.

Shayla Christine Carson was taken from our lives suddenly Friday night after spending the day fishing with friends. She could always be counted on to make you laugh but at the same time, tell you straight up what she really thought. She had a good heart, but oh that mouth! Some of her many talents include being a self-taught makeup artist, often requested by her friends to help get ready for special occasions, singing at the top of her lungs with her headphones on, and taking photographs of the world around her. She was a talented artist and aspiring florist. Soccer, fishing, watching movies and just spending time with friends were just a few of her other hobbies.

Shayla was to be a junior this year at Elysian Fields High School where she had been an active trainer with the football team. She also participated in youth activities in several church groups including Community Youth, Open Range Youth, Bethany Baptist Youth and non-profit outreach programs such as Bountiful Table Ministry, and the Pool of Siloam Medical Mission.

Shayla was predeceased by her mother, Angela Neel and Grandmother Kathy Drummond. She leaves her memories with her Uncle Joey Drummond, Owen Carson, Pop-Pop Ronnie and Becky, Grandma Mindy and Bob, Aunt Michelle and Mr. Pat, Stephanie and Marcus, Stacey and Nessa, Ashley and Joey, Candice, David, Patrick, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and a large host of friends that she left a lasting impression on.

The family wishes to thank Chad Commander, Shreveport Community Church, Rhonda Foster, Auld's Funeral Home and Florist, Elysian Fields High School, Panola County Sheriff's Department, and the surrounding community for all their support during this unexpected time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bountiful Table Outreach or Pool of Siloam Medical Ministry.

I am Shayla's step cousin and didn't find out until November 3rd at football game that was for my grade. I found out that the things with pictures of people meant the person was dead.
I brought into tears.

Pat, Michelle and Family

I can't start to imagine the questions, the hurt and pain you're all going through. You've all been in our thoughts and prayers during this time. Shayla was a gorgeous gift from God, and will ALWAYS be remembered. Remember all the little moments, because they will get you through this along with a community of friends and family. When the rain drops fall, the sun shines on you or (as we say in our family) you see a beautiful butterfly just know that it's Shayla letting you know that she's still with you in heart and soul.

Shayshay, you will be missed but never forgotten.
One of the best memories I have of you was when I took you railfanning when you were 10, The excitement and look on your face was priceless when the big train came by and you were jumping around waving..

You have a lot of family and friends (some you know and some you never met) who will miss you girl.

It is with heavy heart that I see that this wonderful sweetheart of child was taken home. I had the privilege of living next door to her while she was growing up at her grandmothers house. She had turned into such a beautiful young woman. Thank you to the many people that were involved in her life. I hope you realize what a blessing you received for knowing and caring for her.
