Theodore Hoekstra Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Hoekstra, age 76 of Paynesville, died Monday, January 03, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Crystal Hills Assembly of God in Paynesville. Burial will be at the Paynesville Cemetery in Paynesville. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Theodore "Ted" John Hoekstra was born November 5, 1934 in Bell, California, the son of Martin and Clara Hoekstra. He grew up in the Pennock and Roseland Area. On April 22, 1955, Ted was united in marriage to Deloris Krupke. They made their home north of Paynesville where they farmed for 35 years and ran Hoekstra Trucking for a few years. Shortly after retirement in 1992, Ted opened Ted's RV Land in Paynesville.

Ted was a member of Crystal Hills Assembly of God in Paynesville where he and Deloris were active members. He enjoyed spending his time as an aviator, motorcycling and traveling. Ted and Deloris have traveled to every state in the union and loved traveling in RV's. Ted had a great sense of humor and was always looking for another opportunity in life. In 1995, Ted suffered his first heart attack and for the last 11 months has had numerous complications, but fought the good fight.

He is survived by wife, Deloris; children, Jerry (Rita) Hoekstra of Paynesville, Jodi (Doug) Molone of Indianola, IA, and Joan (Adam) Lindquist of Becker; 13 grandchildren, Davis (Amelia) Hoekstra, Derek, Sheena, Shanna, Dayten, Sierra Hoekstra, Lindsay (Zack) Mohr, Lyndon, Lynnette, Lynnea Molone, Mercedes Hoekstra, Tyler and Alayna Lindquist; 5 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Gabriel, Nolan Hoekstra, Gage and Hayden Mohr; 3 sisters, Anne (Ed) Lezer, Martha (Chuck) Peterson and Connie (Mark) Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Tonya (Jared) Johnson

Ted was preceded in death by son, Jim Hoekstra; brother, Clarence Hoekstra and parents.
