Wendell Fraser Collins

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Wendell Fraser Collins, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Rose Park Baptist Church with Rev. Lane Moore, Rev. Bo Collins, Rev. Chad Hardbarger, and Dr. BJ "Rocky" Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Wendell was born June 18, 1938 in Many, LA and went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2018. He retired from AT&T with 38 years of service and was a former CAO of Shreveport under Mayor Bo Williams.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Dorothy Collins; first wife, Billye Reynolds Collins; brothers-in-law, Rocky Reynolds, Larry Wise, and Michael Frazier; and father-in-law, Elmer Thompson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Frazier Collins; mother-in-law, Mary Thompson; son, Wendell Fraser Collins, Jr. (Ginger); daughter, Sherian "Lisa" Collins Moore and her three children; stepchildren, Stephen Hudson (Aleah), Andrew Hudson (Carly), Paige Hudson III (Jessica), Lauren Hudson; sister, Dottie Wise; grandchildren, Wendell Fraser "Bo" Collins III (Katie), Paul Collins (Tori), and Rachael Collins Milner (Ethan); 13 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Syndey, Logan, Fraser, and Elliot; sister-in-law, Debra Laing (Will); and brother-in-law, Kenny Reynolds (Sherry).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mexican Indian Training Center, 2020 E 70th St. Suite 304, Shreveport, LA 71105; Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5850 Buncombe Rd., Shreveport, LA 71129; Rose Park Baptist Church, 5560 Buncombe Rd., Shreveport, LA 71129; or to Price Harris Evangelistic Association, 438 Mars Dr., Shreveport, LA 71106.
