Anthony G. LoPresti

1936 - 2022

January 31, 1936 - July 28, 2022 Anthony was born in Manhattan to Guerino and Anna (Sanguedolce) LoPresti on January 31, 1936. Raised in Sunnyside, Staten Island, attended Our Lady of Good Counsel and New Dorp High School where he excelled in baseball and football in the 1950s. In the late 1960s, early 1970s, Tony was actively involved with the PSAL as a football official/referee. Tony began his professional career at Western Electric in NYC, and then AT&T in NewJersey, until his retirement. A lifelong sports fan, Tony had a strong allegiance to the NY Yankees and NY Football Giants. He was an avid reader, and loved spending time relaxing on the lanai in Florida. For a good part of his life, gourmet cooking was a passion and entertaining friends and family with good food and wine were a favorite activity. That passion was soon passed on to his son Anthony Jr. and for a number of years, father and son worked side by side with DeLos catering in Somerset, NJ. Tony is survived by his children (in-laws) Cynthia Fuhro (Brian), Anne Marie Baldassano (Louis), Pamela Colletti, AnthonyJr. (Elizabeth); and loving grandchildren Christopher, Elizabeth, Lauren, Matthew, Salvatore, Julia, Nicholas, and Anthony III; and brother William LoPresti and sister-in-law Gail of Green County NY. And predeceased by brother Nicholas LoPresti. Tony and his loving wife of 45 years, Diane Bergmann, relocated from Green Brook, NJ, to Estero, Florida in 2010.
