Valenti, (nee Harrison), 76, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, in her home in Oakwood.
Born Arline Harrison in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Arline moved with her family to Concord when she was a teenager.
She married her high school sweetheart, Frank Valenti of Arrochar, on June 11, 1966. They were married for 57 years.
Arline worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for many years through out her lifetime for attorney Harvey H. Fein, the Stapleton law firm of Hall and Hall and a Manhattan maritime law firm, Mahoney & Keene.
Arline and Frank vacationed frequently in Cape Cod, Mass., and Rehoboth and Bethany Beach in Delaware, where they enjoyed fishing and clamming. She had a green thumb as evidenced by her lovely garden in the backyard of her Oakwood home. Gardenias and camelias were her favorites. Orchids also thrived in the Valenti home.
Arline's passion was spending quality time with her family as well as cooking and hosting each holiday. One of her specialties, predictably, was a great clam sauce for spaghetti and clams and her Sunday family style Italian dinners. Particularly memorable were her Christmas Eve dinners, where she served at least 15 family members with the seven fishes and lobster.
For many years, Arline and Frank enjoyed trips to Atlantic City Casinos.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Arline Harrison, and her sister Karen Canino.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Lisa Lanfranchi, Michele Valenti, Valerie Caravello and Jennifer Pattison; a son-in-law, Kipp Pattison, a brother, William Harrison, and seven grandchildren, Anthony Lanfranchi, Anna-Rose Caravello, and Joshua, Jacob, Matthew, Frances and James Pattison.
Arrangements are being handled by the Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY. There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 4 p.m - 8 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 61 New Dorp Lane, Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. A repast will follow.
