Benjamin Adinolfi Obituary

Native Islander, "Anyone Who Knew Him Loved Him" Benjamin "Benny" Adinolfi, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2023. He was in the company of beloved family and friends. He was born on February 3, 1942 and raised in Dongan Hills, Staten Island. He was the son of the late James & Annette and brother of the late Rosemarie Massa and James Adinolfi. He was husband to the late Barbara Adinolfi. He is survived by sister Ann Orlando, brother Emil and loving sister-in-laws Josephine & Mary. Benny is also survived by his children Robert, Mary and John along with 5 grandchildren and scores of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A graduate of New Dorp High School, he went on to work for the New York City Department of Sanitation, where he retired from Staten Island 1 Garage as a supervisor after 20 years of service. He then went on to pursue successful ventures in property development and real estate management. Benny dedicated his time and resources to several charitable causes and was an active member of the Varsity Club of Staten Island, the Staten Island Royal Lion's Club and the Andrew E. Zimmer Fish and Game Conservation Club. He enjoyed traveling the country to visit family and friends and to attend trade shows and Club conventions. When he wasn't traveling, Benny was a fixture at Lobster House Joe's and Lee's Tavern, where he most enjoyed sharing time with friends and family over dinner. Benny was also an avid gardener, often heard bragging about the size of his tomatoes. He always shared his garden with his neighbors Phil and Heather, with whom he treated as family. There are no words to describe his larger than life personality. He was a very loving and happy person and anyone who knew him loved him. Viewing will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2819 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306, on Saturday March 4, 2023 from 2pm-6pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to cancer research.

Everyone knew Benny as a loving and generous man. I´ll never forget the many times he would come into out clubhouse and yelling "hotdog club", inside joke. Them and breakfasts, lunches and dinners we spent together. I will always miss his laugh, that would light up the room, and knowing just where to go to eat. I´m going to miss you Benny. May you rest in enternal peace.
