Charles Michael Lombardi

Had career in HR management, husband, father, grandfather Charles Michael Lombardi passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022. He was a loving husband to Marilyn (Befumo), a proud father and beloved grandfather. Charlie, as everyone called him, enjoyed a full life of 86 years and 65 years with his wife. Born in Fort Wadsworth, raised in Rosebank and Elm Park, he attended P.S. 21 and Port Richmond High School where he graduated in 1953. On the Monday following his graduation from High School, Charlie started working for Texaco in Bayonne (NJ) where he became the Manager of Human Resources for the plant and remained with them for 34 years until the location was closed by Texaco in 1986. Charlie then headed Human Resources at Ideal Aluminum for another 12 years before retiring in 1997. Following his retirement, he resided in New Jersey: Point Pleasant, Brick and eventually (Seabrook Village) in Tinton Falls – where he spent the last 5 years of his life before passing. Charlie enjoyed Yankees baseball, the music of Barbra Streisand, movies from the 1940's and 50's and television from the 1960's and 1970's - especially his favorite game shows and sitcoms. But, he was most passionate about working because providing for his family was truly the one thing that he cared about the most. There was nothing more important to Charlie than his family. In addition to wife Marilyn, he is survived by his daughter Debra Lewis and her son Jerad Setzer of New Windsor (Maryland), his son Stephen and his wife Elizabeth of Middletown (NJ) and their children Katherine and Andrew. He is predeceased by his father, Patrick, mother, Elsie and brother, Robert. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery on Staten Island following a memorial gathering for his immediate family.
