Claire Kelly

Beloved Mother & Grandmother, Was Active at St. Rita's Church Claire (Wimmer) Kelly passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her home in Rossmoor, Monroe Township. She was 94 years old. Mrs. Kelly was born and raised on Staten Island, NY. She was a graduate of Curtis High School, enjoyed horseback riding, and loved baking her tea tassies and Nanny cake. She worked in the Insurance Business for her late husband's practice, Khlopin-Kelly Insurance Company, on Staten Island. For many years they enjoyed spending winter months together in Naples, FL. Claire was an active parishioner at St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church on Staten Island, a member of the Ladies Guild, and she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Her greatest love was taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a friend to everyone she met, a compassionate caregiver, and lived her life serving God. In 1993 Claire moved to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. and quickly became an active parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of various groups including the Ladies of Charity, the Choir, the Prayer Shawl group, the Emerald Society, the Quilting group, the Companions of Pauline, as well as being a Eucharistic Minister. Claire was predeceased by her husband George S. Kelly Jr., her sons George and Stephen, grandsons Brian Kelly and Michael Pierro. She is survived by her six children, Kevin Kelly (Margaret), Brian Kelly (Rita), Christine Hesler, Mark Kelly (Katherine), Janet Faicco (Alfred), and MaryBeth Kelly Snow (John Snow), daughter-in-law Carmela Kelly, three sisters Elizabeth Burns, Maureen Dennis (Robert) and Catherine Bigart, as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, November 27, 2022 and from 8:45am to 9:15am on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Monday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Interment in the Cemetery of the Resurrection, 361 Sharrott Ave. Staten Island, NY 10309.
