Former Islander, 'to Gram, a full house was a happy house' Dale McNamara ("Gram") of Brick, NJ, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend during her incredible 67 years of life. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at Ocean County Medical Center. Dale was born in 1954 and raised in Staten Island, NY and spent the summers in Brick, NJ. In 1968, she met her husband, George McNamara, on Cape Breton Beach. George and Dale were married in 1975, had two boys, and lived in Staten Island, NY until 1988. In 1988, the family moved to Lincroft, NJ. In Lincroft, Dale was a vibrant member of the community, active in PTO, volunteering for the school events, and always in the stands cheering on her sons. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and hosting memorable parties and dinners. In 2003, George and Dale moved back to where it all started, Brick, NJ. They built their dream home, six houses up from the beach where they first met. In Brick, Dale was known for her summer family parties, her summer vegetable gardens, Thanksgiving dinners, and could be seen spending her summer afternoons by the pool. A full house was a happy house, and she was always happy to host. Dale loved being a grandmother and spending time with her granddaughters – always making each visit special with their favorite meal, movie, or hosting a "girls night". Dale is survived by her beloved husband George, her two loving sons, George H. and his wife Melissa of Phoenix, AZ and Brian J. McNamara of Freehold; her two granddaughters, Hayden and Ashley McNamara as well as her sister Barbara Kelly of Staten Island and many nieces and nephews. She was awaiting her third grandchild in early December. A Viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2170 Hwy. 88 Brick. A Funeral Service will be offered on Monday 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. Seeing this brings back such fond memories of years ago. Having met through Billy, we enjoyed many lovely memories with you both in Lincroft and Brick. As time passes on, so did our time spent together. Life takes everyone on different journeys.Know you all are in my thoughts and prayers as you venture out to find a new "new". May Dale Rest In Eternal Peace and know my family is here if you need anything. With sadness, Pat Grier

George
Life has taken me away from NJ traveling and living in Ca. & Washington State.
I was saddened to learn of Dale’s passing and while I may have not been in touch for some time my memories are of a beautiful, giving, and loving woman to which family and friends meant so much.
May you be comforted by wonderful memories of a rich life together.
