Deanna Rose Gioia, 35
Devoted nurse, beloved daughter, wife and mother
Deanna Rose Gioia (nee DiSalvatore), 35, of Annadale, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her residence.
Born May 14, 1981, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Joseph and Debra DiSalvatore. She was the wife of Richard Gioia for the past five years and was the loving mother to their daughter, Adrianna Rose. She was the beloved sister to Joseph DiSalvatore and his wife, Sarah. Deanna was the adored grandaughter of Sadie Marino. She especially loved spending time with her nieces, Jillian and Ava. She was the dear daughter-in-law to Virginia and Richard Gioia.
Deanna worked at Staten Island University Hospital North for the past 15 years and became a nurse three years ago on 3A. She was a graduate of Tottenville High School and St. Paul's School of Nursing.
Besides spending time with her family, Deanna enjoyed going shopping, going to the beach and, most of all, spending time with her daughter. Above all else, she was an amazing wife, devoted nurse and forever friend who always put others before herself.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:15 a.m. at St. Charles Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
