Donna Gentile
1960 - 2021
Donna Gentile left this world with her family by her side on October 6, 2021 at age 60. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Mema, sister-in-law, aunt, mother-in-law, and friend. She was born to Michael and Mary Coppotelli on October 23, 1960. Donna grew up on Staten Island with her siblings, Michael, Donald, Susan, Debbie, Robert, Thomas, Maryann, Dawn, Joanne, Benny and Pamela. She grew up in Annadale and was a graduate of Wagner High school. Soon after high school she met her husband Michael Gentile, they were married for 37 years. During this time, they had several successful businesses: Gentile's Food Terrace, Gentile's Restaurant and Gentile's Catering. Donna is survived by her children and their partners: Alphonse, Ciara & Joe, Michael & Jen, Joal & Vin, and Gianna. Her grandchildren Michael, Jordyn, Demi, and Nolan. Donna loved grabbing her flip flops and heading to the beach or jumping on a plane for a visit to family in Florida. She enjoyed good food and creating delicious meals for everyone around her. Her grandchildren always knew they would get their favorite dish when they visited their Mema. Nothing made her happier than making memories with her grandchildren. Hosting large family holidays brought her much joy and there was no denying that she made the best lasagna in the world. Her house was always open to anyone who needed a friend. If you walked into a room you knew Donna was there by her outgoing personality and unforgettable laugh, she shared herself and her love with all. She was greeted at the pearly gates in heaven by her father, Michael Coppotelli and brothers, Michael and Robert. Donna will be honored in a beach-side celebration of life with her family.
