Douglas James Zanelli

Long-time worker with Local 94 in NYC, devoted family man, 73 Douglas James Zanelli, 73, of Brick passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Mr. Zanelli worked for many years as an operating engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 94 in New York City before retiring in 2014. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Born in the Bronx he grew up and lived on Staten Island. He called the Mariners Harbor and Stapleton Sections home until moving to Brick in 1994. Douglas was predeceased by his father, Eugene Zanelli; and by his mother Lillian Cumming and her husband Joseph. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Susan (Kish) Zanelli; daughters, Lauren Bautista of Brick and Jennifer Zanelli also of Brick; brothers and sisters, Michael Zanelli and his wife, Frances, Lydia Jimenez, both of Alamogordo, NM and Peter Zanelli and his wife, Doris of Staten Island; granddaughters, Olivia and Gianna; as well as an expectant grandson. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 12-3pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at 3pm in the funeral home.
