Elaine Macchia

With sadness and love, the family of Elaine Macchia, 82, of Vero Beach announces her passing on May 3, 2022. The daughter of Joseph and Louise Fanelle was born in Brooklyn. After graduating from Fort Hamilton High School, she met and married her husband of 53 years Anthony who predeceased her. They settled in New Dorp on Staten Island and as a devoted stay at home mother lovingly raised her four sons. She moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1994 and finally to Vero Beach where she spent her remaining years. Elaine was a thoughtful woman who always remembered and acknowledged every important occasion. Family and friends could always count on a greeting card, many of which she crafted herself, to brighten their day. She also loved to crochet and made beautiful blankets. She is survived by her sister Barbara who was her devoted confidant and the two had an unbreakable bond and her sons and their wives Joseph and Christine, Anthony and Dawn, Christopher and Katherine, Michael and Stacey, grandchildren Joseph, Steven, Jamie, Emily, A.J., Sarah and Brighid, great granddaughter Mackenzie as well as many nieces and nephews.
