Frank A. Giallombardo

'The big guy with a big heart' Frank A Giallombardo 44 of Staten Island, NY passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was a graduate of New Dorp High School and attended the College of Staten Island. At the time of his passing he was employed by the Office of the Borough President in the Division of Land Use, Planning and Infrastructure. Frank was known for his love of sports, movies, pop culture and music. He was a die-hard NY Mets fan and always held the eternal hope that they would win it all. He was also a lifelong supporter of the NY Giants and the Rangers. He grew up loving all things Star Wars which we attribute to his being present in utero at the theater in 1977. His interest grew to include 80's horror classics like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. He loved classic video games and all things Nintendo. He appreciated the humor of Weird Al Yankovic. Frank was a huge fan of Kevin Smith, traveling to see him speak and attend screenings. He loved rock music but held a special place for Ska, particularly The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The most important thing to Frank was his family as they were a very tight unit. There was never a time when he said no when someone needed help. He was known as the big guy with big heart even though he may have appeared to be tough. He had the same friends for decades and would do anything for them. He was never one to put off picking up the phone and was present in the lives of those he loved. He is survived by his loving mother, Lynn Giallombardo, his sister and friend Jennifer Trentacosta, and his brother in-law Christian Trentacosta. He was pre-deceased by his father Frank Giallombardo. A wake will be held at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island NY, on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Tuesday March 15, 2022 at St Ann's Church.
