This was my father in law by marriage but my father in life.. when they say the best HE TRULY IS THE BEST!!
Would give the shirt off his back
Do anything for his family
He will be sooooooo missed
When I first met him I didn't call him Jerry & when I got married to his daughter Debbie I never called him Dad
One day when I first was going out with Debbie I called him Slick don't know why it just came to me & it stuck..
& that's who he was everyday I knew him..
I was blessed to have you in my life
You have raised along with ur wife Louise a caring & loving family who were fortunate to be by ur side when God said it was alright for you to come home..
God Speed
Cya on the other side
Will love you always Slick..

I knew Gerald as "Dante" back in the early 50's. His family lived on School Road, and we were back fence neighbors. Our house was on Lyman Avenue across from the park. We were in the same class in P.S. 34, and also in P.S. 13. When he went to McKee and I went to New Dorp we didn't see him as much. We shared a best friend in Gerry Grenier, who lived on Summer Street and died in the Army. I remember Dante as a really nice kid who had lots of friends. I'm not sure, but I think he played an accordion in a school talent show.
I would have liked to connect with him as adults because we really got along well as kids. My sincere condolences to the family.
