John "Jack" Bossert

Beloved father and grandfather, retired New York City firefighter and veteran John E. Bossert, passed away on September 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 87. Jack is predeceased by his wife Dolores, his parents John and Marion Bossert, and his brother Joseph Bossert. He is survived by his eight children, Janet Mackey and her husband, Dan; Jeanine Yalango and her husband, Peter; Eileen Ayuso and her husband, Mike; Jo-Ellen Bossert; Jack Bossert and his wife, Kris; Stephanie Vandenberg and her long-time partner, Pasquale Rago; Michael Bossert and his fiance, Gina Marinello; and Dan Bossert and his wife, Susann; His brother Jay Bossert and his wife Rosemarie. He was the proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will be Monday, 9:45AM at St. Clare Church followed by a burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
