Joseph Nicita Obituary

Native Staten Islander, was dedicated to his faith & his family Joseph Nicita, a native Staten Islander, of Oakwood passed away on December 3, 2022 at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen " Dee- Dee", whom he was married to for 63 years until her passing in 2014. He and his wife were founding members of St. Charles Church. A lover of music, Joseph played the trumpet as a young man and had a booming voice. He lent his talents to many talent shows at St. Charles through the years. His dedication to his faith and to his family were the two central principles of his life. He is survived by his two children Michael and Linda Nicita, and was also pre- deceased by his daughter Susan. He is also survived by brother Vincent and his sister Mary Cimler. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. at The John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc 28 Eltingville Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:15 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Church.
