Sister Kathleen Gilmartin Sister of Charity in education ministry Sister Kathleen Gilmartin (1924-2021) died at Cabrini of Westchester on August 30, 2021. A Staten Island resident, she entered the Sisters of Charity of New York on September 8, 1955. Sister Kathleen's ministry of education spanned all levels as teacher, and then in later life as volunteer. Sister served in St. Paul, Brooklyn; Visitation, Bronx; St. Joseph's Academy, Our Lady of Mt Carmel, and Grace Institute, all in Manhattan; Immaculate Conception, Stony Point. Sister Kathleen is survived by her sister Theresa Dicks, several nieces, grandnieces and nephews and the Sisters of Charity with whom she has shared life for 66 years. Visiting Hours: Flynn Memorial Home, 1652 Central Park Ave. Yonkers on Tuesday, September 7th from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, Riverdale, NY on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
