Loretta Ann McDougall

Loretta Ann McDougall, 93, a former resident of Staten Island, New York died peacefully on October 3, in Palm Bay, Florida. She was preceded by her father John R. Dwyer, her mother Marie Clark Dwyer of Tomkinsville, her sisters Marie Kennedy (William), Marguerite Dwyer, her brother Lawrence Dwyer (Grace), her former husband Edwin Hyslup of Norfolk Virginia and her husband Samuel "Uel" McDougall. Mrs. McDougall is survived by her daughter Sandra Robertson, her grandson Samuel Robertson (Chantelle) and two great grandchildren (Cortlan Lee and Ryan Loretta Rose). She has numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews of whom she was quite fond. Before retirement Mrs. McDougall worked in the paper and forestry industry as an executive assistant and was keen on the conservation of forestry resources. At one point in time, she was a Girl Scout leader. In later years, she volunteered in the Melbourne Florida Library system and for Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. McDougall had a keen interest in classical music, theatre and art. She was an avid reader and creative in her own right. Visitation will occur starting at 8:00 a.m., Saturday October, 16th at Hanley's Funeral Home (60 New Dorp Lane) followed by Mass at 9:30 at Our Lady Queen of Peace (90 Third St, New Dorp). Burial services will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery located at the junction of Clove Road, Bement Avenue and Tyler Place.
