I have had the honor and pleasure of caddying for Louis Portuesi at the RCCC golf course on Staten Island way back in 1972. He was a fairly decent golfer then, but he was a better human being. I ended up caddying for him on and off for the next five years, and he and I struck up conversations on anything; my going to school, golf, cars, what I was going to do after school; you name it. He was a pleasure to talk to. Years later we lost contact with each other, but I still remember the "good old days" of being on the golf course and chatting with him. My condolences to his family. RIP, Mr. Portuesi, and enjoy the golf in Heaven.
