Lucien DiForte Obituary

NYFD service of 30 years, Army Nat'l Guard veteran, family man It is with great sorrow that The DiForte Family must announce the loss of our Patriarch Lucien DiForte. Lou passed peacefully surrounded by his family on April 24th, 2023. Born and raised on Staten Island, Lou grew up in South Beach. Lou is survived by the love of his life Lynne, married just shy of 60 years. They settled in Stapleton and spent over 40 wonderful years there until moving to Waretown, NJ. The greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his wife Lynne DiForte. His three children Lucien DiForte Jr and his wife Jeanette, Michael DiForte and his wife Kerry and Denise Reich and her husband John Reich. Lucien was the best Pop Pop to his 8 grandkids, Christina, Benjamin , Cassidy, Marina, Lianna, Nicholas, Lucien III, and Robbie. He was blessed with 4 beautiful great-grand babies, Dex, Tessa, Haisley and Bishop. Also survived by his sister Lucy Norman and his brother Salvatore DiForte. Our Hero pridefully served the City of New York as a Fireman for 30 years, finishing his career in Engine 155. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He did not hesitate to assist during the tragic events of 9/11. He was an excellent chef and loved to fill his home, feeding his closest family and friends. He was known for his vegetables "Fresh from the garden!", his pizza parties and homemade wine. Louie enjoyed celebrating the holidays and decorating for Christmas. He looked forward to his beautiful tree and train set every year. He was an avid runner and competed in many races on Staten Island. Lynne and Louie moved to Saylorsburg,PA with his son Louie to spend their final years together. Services will be at Azzara Funeral home on Thursday, April 27 from 4-8pm with Mass at St. Sylvester's on Friday at 10am. Lucien will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers The DiForte family requests donations made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Lynn,Louie,Denise and Michael. So sorry of the passing of Louie I remember his big garden on Smith Terr he would always give my parents the vegetables and how we would play in his yard. It is hard losing our loved ones but he is now in peace. The Fazio´s and Prignoli family
