New Dorp mother & grandmother, career legal secretary, 94 Margaret Crudele, 94 of New Dorp, passed away on Jan. 4 in Staten Island University Hospital of a Covid-19 related illness. Marge, as she was known to her friends, was a long-time legal secretary for one of the smallest (Abrams and Cowen) and one of the biggest (Fried Frank Shriver and Jacobs) law firms in Manhattan. She loved her work, but not as much as her family and friends. Everyone she knew – family and friends – had a will done gratis by Marge in her spare time. Born in Brooklyn in 1927, Marge (nee Siani) was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School. She married Nick Crudele in 1950 and had three children. She is survived by daughter Michelle Sarnelli and her husband Michael; son John Crudele and son Thomas Crudele and his wife Marie, and by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Louis Siani and sister Madeline Muller. A wake will he held at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, S.I. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. A mass will be held at 10 am Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at St. Patrick's Church, Richmond Town.

I met Marge while working at Fried Frank in the early 80s. As a newly hired legal secretary in the Estates and Trust Department, it was Marge who "showed me the ropes." She did so willingly and patiently even though she was busy with her workload, always there to lend a helping hand. We lost touch over the years, but I remember her fondly. Rest in Peace Marge.
