1937 - 2021

Marie Guastavino Marie Guastavino, ne Coccaro, passed peacefully on August 26, 2021. Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Born in Staten Island on April 1, 1937, to Domenick and Angie Coccaro. She attended Port Richmond High School and went on to become a cherished mother of three to Steven, Debra and Lori with former husband Howard Guastavino. Marie later pursed a career in nursing. She provided care as a Registered Nurse at Bayley Seton Hospital for 33 years. After her retirement in 2013, Marie enjoyed traveling with her long term partner, Patrick Sweeney (deceased) and spending time with her four grandchildren: Matthew, Alexis, Marissa and Michael. Her hobbies included: reading on her kindle, watching TMZ to stay up on the latest celebrity gossip, ordering gifts for her family from QVC and most recently, preparing for the arrival of Alexis' first child. Marie is survived by: sister Phylis Sterlacci (Louis), brother Joseph Coccaro (Patricia), sister in law Janet Coccaro (late Michael), son Steven Guastavino (late Lori), daughters Debra Venditti (Rocky) and Lori Borrazzo (Robert), grandchildren Matthew Guastavino, Alexis Abbruzzese, Marissa Guastavino, Michael Tramutola, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation for Marie will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310. Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church Wednesday, September 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. Forest Ave & Manor Rd. Staten Island, NY 10310. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery Wednesday, September 1, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
