I remember Mr. Doherty from John Adams H.S. (1976 grad)
Along with Mr. Feingold and Mr. Ostrosky, they were the best Phys. Ed. teachers. I never made the cut for the baseball team, but no hard feelings. I really wasn't that great. Rest in power, Mr. Doherty.

I played on the John Adams Football teams of 1962 & 63. Marty was a tough task master who not only made football players from young boys , he built character. It was a honor to play for him.
My sincere condolences to his family.

RIP. Great coach. Always appreciated his sense of humor. I think Ostro, Doherty and Palumbo had as big an influence on my life as any person before or since. The problem is you don´t realize it until you are able to look back after a lifetime and then you start to understand the parts they played....

My brother, Steve, and I played baseball for Coach. D. at John Adams in the 60's and 70's. He was one of the best men I have ever had the privilege to know. Next to my dad, Mr. Doherty, helped me the most to be the man I am today.
