Mary Orlando, formerly of Eltingville, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn to Frank and Carmella Ricupero, Mary was a devout Catholic and belonged to the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception at Regina Pacis.
She met the love of her life, Robert A. Orlando (deceased), at 17 and knew they would spend the rest of their lives together.
Mary was a devoted parishioner of Holy Child Parish, a Eucharistic minister, and taught CCD. Retired from AIG, she was an amazing cook who was happiest hosting holiday feasts surrounded by her family.
Mary is survived by her five children, Peggy Ann Kavanagh (Eugene), Barbara Ann Gorlick (Stan), Karen Ann Fleming (Kerry), Robert A. Orlando Jr. (Patty), MaryEllen Brown (Allen). She especially doted over her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today, Monday, Oct. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hanley Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Church of the Holy Child, Amboy Rd., Eltingville.
