Merilyn Driscoll "Mimi" Baylor

1929 - 2022

1929–2022 (93 years old) Mimi Baylor, a former Staten Island, Todt Hill Road resident, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2022, at her daughter Nancy's residence in Middletown, N.J., in the presence of her family. She was predeceased by her husband Robert William Baylor Jr. in January 2022, and son Richard in June 2013. Mimi knew her husband "Bob" since elementary school - both grew up in Four Corners on Staten Island, they lived on the same street, and were childhood friends. She attended Curtis High School and they later married in 1950 and settled into their Todt Hill home for the next 68 years where they raised three children. An avid bowler at Victory Lanes in Castleton Corners and lifelong competitive duplicate bridge player, Mimi worked in real estate and was an Avon representative when the family was young and later as district manager for Avon Products. The family as a whole loved skiing and grew up horseback riding in their backyard, loved the beach and most of all loved spending summers with family at the Jersey Shore. Mimi is survived by her children Julie Klimowicz (William), Nancy Milnes (Peter), daughter-in-law Marian Baylor (Richard, deceased June 2013), and grandchildren William and Michael Klimowicz, Peter and Haley Milnes, and Kerianne, Trevor and Andrew Baylor. There will be a grave-side service on Monday December 12th, at Moravian Cemetery in New Dorp for family and friends (meet at 11:45 a.m. at cemetery office).
