Norma Jean Pettersen Norma Jean Pettersen, 54, of Deposit, NY, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Norma was predeceased by her son, Brayden, and her father, Harold Pettersen. She is survived by her mother, Brigitte Pettersen; children, Connor Atkinson, Dallas Doughty, Xavier Doughty, and Noelle Doughty; 4 sisters, Kristine & Benito DeCurtis, Mary Ann Pettersen, Donna & Frank Romero, Brigitte Ann & Carl Kwasnicki; brother, Hal & Patty Pettersen; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Norma Jean was a kind and nurturing mother, sister, aunt, daughter, cousin and niece. Her strength and resilience toward life's challenges was one of the most admirable parts of her character. Even in her last moments, she fought hard for all those she knew she'd leave behind. Norma had a knack for photography, always expressing her creative vision through a camera lens. She truly saw the beauty in all things. Her compassion and love for animals was a gift to this planet. Where no one else cared, Norma cared most. While we are deeply mourning her loss, we celebrate the life she lived. She joins her son Brayden in the stars, a bright spark, imprinting a lasting mark. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Deposit Community Park from 12-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal rescue shelters.
