Patricia Marie Liebertz, (nee Delahanty), passed away in Tamarac, Florida following complications from a heart aneurysm on November 3rd, 2021. She was 88 years of age. Patricia was born in Weehawken, New Jersey on November 8th, 1932. The oldest of four children, she grew up in an Irish family of engineers and teachers. Patricia is survived by her children; Alexandra P. Tumbleston (Benny), Jacqueline F. Elliott (David), Wolfgang B. Liebertz (Gabrielle) in addition to her brother Joseph Delahanty (Mary) and sister Mary Lally (John). Her fourth child, Mark W. Liebertz (Celenia) and sister, Catherine A. Bielski (Leonard) preceded her in death. She is also survived by seven grandchildren. Patricia graduated from Manhattanville College in 1954. In 1962, she moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where she and her then husband began their family. Patricia became an accountant and, in 1978, moved to Columbus, OH, to start her career as an auditor for the US Department of Treasury. In 1983, Patricia moved to Staten Island and, earning her CPA, began working as an accountant in NYC. There, she and her sons spent the following years renovating their home, an 1870's era rooming house, in Staten Island's historic St. George district. In 1996, Patricia left her accounting career and opened her renovated home as the St.Marks Inn. St. Marks Inn received hundreds of guests from across the country and around the world and was her personal and professional passion for almost 25 years. In 2018, Patricia retired altogether and moved to sunny South Florida to be near family. Her final days were surrounded by her family and with love. Her legacy is one of survival and longevity. Patricia was a strong woman who lived with an unwavering and non-deferential integrity uncommon for her time. That spirit lives on through the strong character of her children. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. George, Staten Island, a short way from her home of 37 years, the St. Marks Inn.
