Thomas Christopher Hassing, 72, of Cresco, PA, died Sunday, November 21 at home. He was the loving husband of Marianne (Curry) Hassing, with whom he shared 40 years. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Dan and Janis (Magee) Hassing. A proud Veteran, Thomas served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War (1968-1969) as a crew chief and helicopter mechanic. Before moving to the Poconos in 2017, he was a long-time resident of Staten Island where he raised his family. Thomas was a carpenter by trade and fondly known as a jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his only daughter, Julie Palmeri and her husband, Joe of Staten Island. There will be a viewing from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, November 29 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, PA. Dr. Catherine Thayer will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
