Victor Loscalzo

WWII veteran, active Kiwanis member who founded kidney fund Victor Loscalzo, 98, of Meiers Corners, passed away on October 6, 2021, after a brief illness. Vic lived on Staten Island for most of his 98 years, where he was raised with his late brother Henry, his aunts, and many cousins. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands, while serving in the Navy during WWII. Vic had many business ventures over his long life. He was a member of the North Central Kiwanis Club, attending meetings until just prior to his illness. Through Kiwanis, he was instrumental in the donation of Staten Island's first artificial kidney machine. A year later, funded the creation of Staten Island's first hemodialysis unit at Staten Island Hospital. To assure the continued support of the center, he founded the Staten Island Artificial Kidney Foundation. Victor is survived by a daughter Janice English, a son Sean Loscalzo. 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A companion, Maryann Ball. He is predeceased by his wife, Beryl Loscalzo and son Charles Loscalzo. As he wished, there will be no service.
