William R. "Bill" Long
Beloved father & grandfather, retired corrections officer William (Bill) R. Long, 82, Staten Island native, Son of William F. and Lillian Long, retired Captain from NYC Department of Corrections, passed away peacefully in his home, May 8, 2021. He grew up in Annadale, lived on the South Shore of Staten Island, and spent his remaining years in Manahawkin, N.J. Bill was a strong, athletic, hard worker in his younger years. He enjoyed being a grandpa, playing golf, loved to eat delicious family-style meals, and was always quick to lend a helping hand. He is survived by son Thomas, five daughters Loretta (Bootsie), Nancy, Barbara, Kathy, and Julie, and 13 grandchildren.

Condolences and prayers to the Long family. Bill had a great personality and I enjoyed working with him. He will be missed by all.

Our Deepest Sympathy to Loretta and the Long Family, Bill was a true Gentleman and a respected and loyal friend . He will be missed by many (especially His Family & the Carbonella Boys, a social group that met frequently for over 20 years made up of Correction & NYPD Officers . RIP Billy.
