William 'Bill' Schmauch William "Bill" Schmauch, age 54, of Raphine, Virginia, born in Staten Island, New York, passed away Tuesday June 15th 2021. Bill was an electrician in New York City, who retired from the IBEW #3 Electrical Union after working for them 25 years. An avid sports lover, he spent his free time rooting for the New York Mets, New York Rangers, Miami Dolphins and the Virginia Tech Hokies. He enjoyed golfing with both new and old friends and loved spending time in his workshop at home. To meet him was to love him. He was a gentle soul who always strived to make everyone whom he met feel welcome. Bill loved his family with his whole heart and his daughter was his greatest source of pride. He always went out of his way to help his family and friends with whatever they needed. In December of 2020, he and his family moved into their dream home, of which he was heavily involved in the construction. He was very proud of his dream home and loved for family and friends to come visit, and sit and spend time with them on their deck while admiring the gorgeous and peaceful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Schmauch, and his aunt, Betty Ann Pascarella. Bill and his father were extremely close and worked together to renovate both of their homes in Staten Island. They were inseparable. Bill is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rochelle Coleman Schmauch, and his daughter, Olivia Schmauch. Also surviving him is his mother, Margaret Schmauch (Staten Island, NY); his brothers, Michael Schmauch (Phillipsburg, NJ); Thomas Schmauch (Castle Rock, CO); and sister, Lynda (Schmauch) Sander (Staten Island, NY). Bill was loved and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Services were held Monday at Harrison's Funeral Home, Lexington, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory, for his daughter, Oliva Schmauch's, college fund.
