MINSTER — Alma Marie Beers, age 80, passed away January 15, 2017 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1936, in Bloomington, Indiana, to the late Nias and Gertrude Marie (Pettit) Altop. On July 7, 1954, she married Robert A. Beers and he preceded her in death July 6, 2007.
Alma is survived by children, Sherry Schroer, of Sidney, Steven and Connie Beers, of Sidney, and Robert J. and Sandra K. Beers, of Jackson Center; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, William and Marian Altop, of Ellettsville, Indiana, Ron and Patricia Scott, of Bloomington, Indiana, and Lee and Nancy Musgrave, of Bloomington, Indiana.
Alma attended the Mount Tabor Church of God in Bellefontaine for many years. She retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending yard sales, playing bingo and doing arts and crafts.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Shelby Memory Gardens in Hardin with Pastor Terry Sharp officiating. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to State of Heart Hospice in Coldwater, Ohio.
The staff of Adams Funeral Home has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
